Special Gift

We got some seriously amazing gifts this year for Christmas - a Wii (I really need to upload the video of McKinley's reaction when we got home from our Christmas/New Years trip & found the package under the tree that Santa had left there), an IPAD, a Kindle Fire, Bluetooth Headset, Bluetooth stereo for the van. Honestly... I felt a little overwhelmed by it all. They were all wonderful gifts and we've enjoyed them.

One gift, though, truly deserves its own post. My sweet mother has been working on this gift for a year or two at least. They are books. Personalized for each grandchild. What's inside? Well... something priceless! It is a heritage of who they are & where they came from. It starts with the story of their lives. Then, each parent's life story. Then their parent's life story. And their parents'. SO - it has the life story of my daughter (short as it is right now :), her parents, her grandparents, and her great-grandparents - for both Jason's side & my side. Complete with lots of beautiful pictures. The girls had fun looking at them on Christmas Eve, but I know they can't comprehend all the love & work that has gone into this book. I hope as they get older, they will cherish this book as much as I do.

I just want to say THANK YOU MOM! What a precious treasure of heritage you've given my children!

Heidi,
Thank you for posting this sweet remembrance along with pictures. It means so much to me. The think I was most excited about this Christmas was to give these books.
Thanks again.
I love you,
